Application/Registration

When is the registration deadline?

Online registration for all the races is open from September 2012. It will be possible to register online until May 18, 2013. Last minute registration will be possible at the race office on May 17-18 for double price.

Will I receive confirmation letter?

E-confirmation for the participation will be immediately sent to the indicated e-mail address upon receiving your participation fee payment. Take the confirmation e-mail with you to receive race number with timing chip. If You haven't received the letter check if Your name appears among entrants and request a letter by e-mail marathon@necom.lv

Who can apply?

Marathon distance is open to participants above 18 (born before May 19, 1995). Half-marathon, 10K and 5K distances are open to anybody and each participant may choose a distance that fits to his/ her strengths and skills.

Is it possible to buy the official marathon T-shirt?

Organizers of the marathon offer to order the official marathon T-shirt at the moment of registration. The T-shirt is produced by adidas using high-quality material. The price of the T-shirt is 20,00 Latvian Lats (~29 EUR). It will be possible to buy a T-shirt during the Marathon EXPO and on the marathon day (some sizes might be sold out). What to do if I have made mistake in my name or team name?

If you notice same mistake in your name, birth date or have forgotten team name send e-mail message to marathon@necom.lv with misspelling correction. To make corrections easier, please, indicate your distance and start number.

Can I change the distance after the registration?

If you have reasons to change the distance it is possible. Due to participation fee differences it is possible to change just for shorter distance (e.g. from Marathon to Half-marathon or from Half-marathon to 10K etc.). The participation fee is not refundable. But if you can’t run on May 19, 2013 you can transfer entry fee for next year (with additional payment of 5.00 LVL (~ 7.00 EUR).

I have registered but can't find my name on the participants list

If you have successfully registered and received confirmation e-mail message but don’t find your name on participants list send e-mail to marathon@necom.lv indicating your name, distance and approximate registration time. Organizers will contact you in 48 hours for solving the situation.

Race Week

Where and how to get start numbers?

Participants will receive the start numbers and time control chip in Marathon EXPO. The place will be announced by April, 2013.

• On Friday, May 17, from 10:00 to 20:00;
• On Saturday, May 18, from 10:00 to 20:00.

The numbers and the timing chips will not be sent by post. In the case if international participants are arriving just on Marathon day there will be exceptional number pick-up before the start on May 19.

Race Day

Will I receive a memorial medal of the competition?

All marathon and half-marathon finishers will receive “Nordea Riga Marathon 2013” memorial medal. There will be memorial medal for 10K and 5K finishers as well.

What kind of refreshments will be available on the course?

There will be refreshment points at each 5 km of the course. Participants will be offered water, bananas and official isotonic sports drink "Isostar".

If I need visa for Latvia how can I get it?

In order to obtain invitation for Latvian visa, please, contact travel agency „Latvia Tours” by e-mail  latviatours@latviatours.lv 

For processing invitation you have to submit the following information on each person traveling to Latvia:
1) Personal data (first name, family name, data and place of birth, current address, citizenship);
2) Confirmation of booked tickets (return ticket is mandatory);
3) City where you will obtain visa from Latvian consular mission

Hotel reservation in Riga (Latvia) should be made through travel agency and is mandatory requirement for obtaining the visa.

The price for the service and invitation is 30 EUR/ per person (group discounts available for groups above 5 persons) and should be paid immediately upon request for visa.

Travel agency will undertake the invitation processing as soon as you have provided all the necessary information and paid for invitation to the agency. Upon issuing invitation travel agency will inform you via e-mail or fax and the original invitation will be sent to your indicated Latvian consular mission.

Attention: For some countries additional examination is required! For these countries proceeding of invitation will take additional time and might be refused if not sufficient guarantees of returning to the residence country is provided.
