Registration for Nordea Riga marathon 2012 is open!
Next race will take place on May 20, 2012. Next year it will be 22nd edition of the race. This year there were 16 350 participants from 45 countries. Among them there were 1600 international participants and we expect to have around 2000 foreign runners next year.
Distances and course
The course will remain unchanged as they were in 2011. There will be 4 distances available for participants: marathon (42 km 195 m), half-marathon (21 km 097,5 m), 10K and 5K.
The scenic course lies in the very center of Riga City and runners can enjoy the charm of the old Hansiatic Town. The course is allowing visiting both sides of the river Daugava, the largest river in Latvia. Course of the marathon and half-marathon cross the river with the help of the Vansu Bridge and Dienvidu tilts thus allowing the participants to enjoy some of the most beautiful spots in Riga – Art Nouveau buildings in the silent centre, the amazing panorama of Pardaugava and the Old Riga, as well as the paved streets and wooden architecture of Kipsala island. Estimated starting time for marathon and half-marathon 8:30 A.M. The exact starting times for 10K and 5K will be announced by the end of March, 2012.
